Sound Field: Cmajor modulated throughout 4 city blocks
On June 02, 2005, thirty musicians spread across two blocks on South Congress St. in Austin, Texas to hold a common musical note for fifteen minutes. Traditionally, time is used to organize sounds into music but for this experimental performance, space was used to organize the sounds. Lining the streets, rooftops and restaurant patios, the musicians played Cmajor as thousands of people walked up and down the streets for the First Thursday Street Festival. Other musicians sat in cars, blasting a pre-recorded CD of the same Cmajor note, generating a field of sounds that changed in relation to each passerby.

Colorluscious
On April 29th, 2006 at Pease Park in Austin, TX. The artists of PinonStudioLabs set up 1,500 brightly colored balloons. The balloons hovered throughout the day during Eeyore's Birthday Celebration where hundreds of families had gathered in costume. Playing upon the idea of fantasy and make-believe, the balloons gave the festival a heightened whimsical nature.

SoundSpace : Austin, spliced and rewired
December 8-15th, 2006. Austin Tx. Soundspace experimented with the way sound contributes to the perceptual construction of space and environment. Having gathered local sounds from different parks, businesses, restaurants, and houses, the sounds were recorded together on a CD and given away to participating locations. In this way, the local sounds of each space were switched out with the sounds of another space. For example, the sounds of Barton Springs played inside of a dentists office while the noise of the dentist office played at Barton Springs. Sounds of friends in their living-rooms played at restaurants, while the chatter of the restaurant played inside peoples homes.
